Sanctuary cast: Who’s in the Japanese Netflix series?

Netflix has always had a pretty good variety of international titles in its catalog, but the company has really been stepping up their game more recently. One new show is Japanese series, Sanctuary.

The eight-episode production dropped Thursday, May 4, 2023 on the streaming service. The story follows juvenile delinquent Saruzakura who takes up sumo wrestling to earn some money, per the synopsis. He finds himself “on a collision course with a voiceless wrestler carrying a secret.” Audiences can expect to see the amount of training and strength that’s needed, and the culture surrounding the Japanese sport.

Who’s in the Japanese Netflix series Sanctuary cast?

Actor Wataru Ichinose plays the central role of Saruzakura. Pierre Taki plays the sumo stable master who becomes the main character’s teacher, a.k.a. sumo stable master. Actress Koyuki plays the stable master’s wife. You may recognize her from the 2003 Tom Cruise film, The Last Samurai. Actress Shiori Kutsuna plays Asuka. She’s appeared as Yukio in Deadpool 2 and the Apple TV+ series Invasion. We provided the cast list below:
