Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story episode 6 recap: Crown Jewels
The season finale opens with a flashback to the past. Princess Augusta meets with Dr. Monro. Dr. Monro informs Augusta that Charlotte has dismissed him as George’s doctor. Augusta is shocked by this news.
Then, the episode cuts to the present. At Danbury’s Estate, Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton get ready to go for a walk. Violet tells Lady Danbury that she’s contemplating dating again and Lady Danbury encourages her. Once Lady Danbury leaves the room to go get more gloves, Violet looks around the room and notices a birthday hat that her dad made on the chimney. She picks it up and examines it before hurrying and putting it back once Lady Danbury enters the room. At Buckingham House, Queen Charlotte continues to pressure her kids about making a royal heir.
Back in the past, Charlotte finds George in the observatory. They have a heated conversation that ends with them confessing their love for one another. Now, they have no secrets between them anymore and are closer than ever.
Lady Danbury goes to the shed and waits for Lord Ledger. Lord Ledger shows up but with Violet. They’re awkward with each other since they slept together and Violet’s there. As Lord Ledger and Violet walk away, Lady Danbury steps in front of Lord Ledger and whispers to him. Violet finds this odd but doesn’t say anything. Lady Danbury and Lord Ledger seem to break things off for good.
At St. James Palace, Princess Augusta meets with the councilors. She tells them that Charlotte, George, and the baby are doing well. With this positive information, Lord Bute tells Augusta that he’ll tell Parliament know George is ready for an address. In the present, Queen Charlotte and two of her kids have a discussion that ends with them basically calling her a bad mother.
Back in the past, Charlotte and George are in a good place in their relationship. George receives a letter from his mother but he throws it away without reading it. As George leaves to go farm, Reynolds expresses his concerns about George’s health condition to Charlotte. However, Charlotte brushes him off and says that George is fine now that she’s there to take care of him. Later, Brimsley and Reynolds take a bath together and talk about the future of their relationship.
At St. James Palace, Lady Danbury meets with Princess Augusta to talk about title inheritance. She hopes to find out from Augusta whether or not her son will inherit Lord Danbury’s title. But Augusta refuses to tell Lady Danbury anything unless she shares information about Charlotte’s visit to her estate. Later that night, Coral tells Lady Danbury to ask Charlotte for help in the title inheritance situation. But Lady Danbury doesn’t want to bother Charlotte since she’s pregnant.
The next morning, Princess Augusta meets with Charlotte at Kew. She explains to Charlotte how important it is that George stops hiding and does his job as King. Later, Charlotte tells George that they need to go back to Buckingham House and that he must address Parliament. In the present, Queen Charlotte asks Brimsley if he’s ever been married. Brimsley tells her that he hasn’t because he’s never had the time. This is because he pretty much dedicated his life to serving her.
Back in the past, Charlotte and George arrive at Buckingham House. Then, Charlotte meets with Lady Danbury in the Buckingham House orangery. Lady Danbury explains how things have been going for her since Lord Danbury passed away. Charlotte offers her assistance, but Lady Danbury turns down the help. In the present, Violet suspects that Lady Danbury and her father had a secret affair in the past but she doesn’t have proof. She tries to get Lady Danbury to confess but to no avail. Instead, Lady Danbury tells her that she had a fling with Adolphus after the death of Lord Danbury.
Back in the past, Adolphus tells Lady Danbury that he’d like to court her and she accepts. Lady Danbury sees this as an opportunity to solve her current problem. Meanwhile, at Buckingham House, Charlotte watches George work tirelessly to write his speech. But suddenly, she goes into labor. She has the baby moments later.
Later, Lady Danbury meets with Princess Augusta to discuss the title inheritance again. But since she still won’t share private information about Charlotte, Augusta refuses to tell her anything. Although they’re adversaries, they share an intimate moment.
Once George arrives at the place to give his speech, he refuses to come out of the carriage because he’s having a fit. Later, Charlotte searches for George at Buckingham House. She finds him under their bed and then joins him. George explains to Charlotte what happened to him in the carriage. Then, he tells her that she should leave him since he’s not well. But Charlotte refuses to do so. Instead, she tells him that she’ll stick by his side. The conversation ends with Charlotte suggesting to George that they invite Parliament to Buckingham House.
Elsewhere, Adolphus proposes to Lady Danbury, but he tells her she doesn’t have to give an answer right away. Charlotte and George decide to throw a ball at Buckingham House to introduce their new baby. They invite the entire ton and Parliament. This ball must be a success for George since Parliament is watching him closely after he failed to give his speech. During the ball, Lady Danbury finally gives Adolphus an answer to his proposal. She tells him she can’t marry him.
Fortunately, the ball ends up being a major success. Charlotte approaches Lady Danbury at the ball and tells her that she knows about her title inheritance problem. She lets her know that she’ll be helping her with the issue soon. Later, Charlotte tells George that she’s pregnant again but this time with twins.
In the present, Queen Charlotte finally gets her royal heir since one of her sons and his wife are expecting a baby. On another day, Violet Bridgerton invites Lady Danbury over for tea. When Lady Danbury arrives, she notices birthday hats all around the room. Once she and Violet sit down to drink their tea, they stare intensely at each other. At this moment, Lady Danbury knows that Violet knows about her past fling with Lord Ledger. But instead of discussing it, they choose to sweep it under the rug.
The season finale ends with Queen Charlotte visiting King George at Kew. She finds him writing on the walls of the bedroom. She gets under the bed and tells him to join her. Once George gets under the bed, Charlotte tells him the good news about there being a royal heir soon. Then, they share a passionate kiss. The last shot shows their shoes sticking out from under the bed. Then, it cuts to the credits.
