Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is finally streaming on Netflix, and it’s what everyone’s raving about. Fan-favorite character from Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, is at the center of the series. It tells her origin story of how she rose to power. It also explores her betrothal to King George III, how they eventually fell in love, and how their marriage transformed English high society.

But the show doesn’t only focus on the past. Instead, it jumps back and forth between two timelines: the past (18th century) and the present (19th century). It’s worth mentioning that the present takes place sometime after Bridgerton season 2. While the past focuses on how Queen Charlotte became the queen and her love life, the present centers around Queen Charlotte and her mission to continue her and King George’s lineage.

Since the new period drama also takes place in the present, this means Lady Whistledown is around. If you recall, Penelope Featherington is revealed to be Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton season 2. However, she’s not the voice of Lady Whistledown. The incomparable Julie Andrews is the voice of Lady Whistledown. But does Julie Andrews reprise the voice of the popular gossip columnist in the prequel series? Find out below.

Does Julie Andrews narrate Queen Charlotte?

Yes, Academy Award-winning actress Julie Andrews returns to voice Lady Whistledown and narrate in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. However, we don’t hear Andrews’s voice that often in the show since Lady Whistledown isn’t really important to the storyline in the present timeline. Still, Andrews’s voice can be heard in every episode except the fourth, which completely focuses on the past.

Although Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story won’t likely be returning with a second season since it’s a limited series, that doesn’t mean we won’t hear Julie Andrews’s voice anymore. She will continue to voice Lady Whistledown in future seasons of Bridgerton. And with Bridgerton season 3 expected to be released by the end of 2023, we’ll be hearing her voice very soon.

All six episodes of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story are available to stream on Netflix.
