Sweet Tooth season 2 episode 6 recap: How It Started, How It’s Going

The sixth episode opens with a flashback of when Adi and Rani first started dating. They decide to take a trip together to the countryside. The episode then cuts to the present time.

Aimee and the Air Lords start their attack on the Preserve. As Aimee talks to General Abbot on a walkie-talkie, the Air Lords drop a bunch of purple flowers from their planes into the area where Abbot and his army are. Abbot and his men immediately leave the area. Then, Abbot orders his army to find the hybrids and Johnny to take Adi to Evergreen.

Meanwhile, Bear, Jordan, and Tiger are close to arriving at the zoo but are stopped when the truck they’re in is bombed by the Air Lords. As they make their way to the zoo on foot, Jordan suddenly points his weapon at Tiger. But Bear refuses to let him kill her so she stops him. Jordan now realizes that Bear is in the Animal Army. While he lies on the ground, Bear sets Tiger free. After Tiger runs away, Bear apologizes to Jordan for lying and tells him that she’s no longer in the Animal Army. Still, Jordan wants nothing to do with her so Bear leaves to go find Gus.

At Adi’s lab, Johnny shows up and escorts Adi to his room so that he can pack his bags. Elsewhere, Gus is able to free Jepperd from his cage. While Jepperd is only concerned about him and Gus escaping the Preserve, Gus wants to also save his friends. So, Jepperd listens to him and they search for the other hybrids.

Meanwhile, Wendy and the other hybrids find a way to escape by using a rope to climb up to the roof of the zoo. But then Wendy realizes that Gus isn’t with them, so she leaves to go find him. In Adi and Rani’s room, Johnny tells Adi and Rani to pack their bags so they can escape. But Adi doesn’t want to because he still wants to find a cure. However, Rani is seemingly able to convince him.

The raid intensifies and Abbot orders missiles to be launched at the Air Lords planes. Bear gets closer and closer to the zoo, but is almost killed by a missile. Luckily, she’s saved by Tiger. After a heated discussion, they eventually reconcile and team up. Tiger tells Bear that the other Animal Army members are there to help too. We also learn some important information during their conversation. We find out that Wendy is Bear’s long-lost sister. Elsewhere, Aimee finds Adi’s lab and discovers that Roy and Peter were killed. She decides to burn the lab down, which means all of Adi’s research is gone.

As the hybrids continue to climb up the rope, several guards approach them and try to stop them. But then Jepperd and Gus arrive and distract them. Meanwhile, Wendy arrives at the place where the presentation took place and reunites with Aimee. Then, they leave to go find the others.

After Jepperd, Gus, and the other hybrids defeat the guards, they try to find a way to escape the Preserve. Jepperd finds a bus and they all run to get on it. But before they leave, Jepperd promises Gus and the other hybrid kids that he’ll come back and find Wendy once he gets them to safety.

Meanwhile, Abbot realizes that the purple flowers that were dropped by Aimee and the Air Lords were fake. He realizes that Aimee dropped the purple flowers because she knew he and the other Last Men would panic and leave the zoo. That way, she can go in and easily rescue the hybrid kids without any interference.

As Adi and Rani are about to leave the Preserve, Adi sees Gus’s antler on the ground. Immediately, he thinks that Gus may be what is needed to make a cure. Although Rani begs Adi to leave with her, Adi tells her he must first get his research and then he’ll be back. But when he makes it back to his lab, he sees that it’s on fire and that all of his research is gone. He goes to find Rani but discovers that she left without him.

As Jepperd starts up the bus and prepares to leave, Gus sees Aimee and Wendy running toward them. Jepperd lets them on the bus and Aimee is reunited with her other kids. As they drive by, Abbot watches on. The episode ends with Jepperd, Aimee, and the hybrids headed to Yellowstone. However, it appears that Aimee now has the Sick because her pinky finger starts twitching.
