Sweet Tooth season 2 recap guide: All 8 episodes explained
Sweet Tooth season 2 episode 4 recap: Bad Man
The fourth episode opens with Jepperd and Aimee leaving Factory Town to meet some of Aimee’s associates who call themselves the “Air Lords.” But suddenly they’re captured by a mysterious group of people. The episode then cuts to the title card.
At the pump house, the other hybrids continue to talk to Gus about him lying about where Roy was. Gus tries to explain why he lied, but no one wants to listen. Instead, they decide they want nothing to do with Gus and will find a way to escape without him.
Meanwhile in Adi’s lab at the Preserve, Adi experiments on the chickens to find a cure for the Sick. He uses the eggs from the chickens to incubate the antigens and then introduces the antibodies to the treated cells. His experiments appear to be successful when the computer shows that the virus has been destroyed. Rani enters the lab and Adi tells her he’s produced a cure. Initially, Rani is happy to find out the good news, but then she realizes that Adi had to kill another hybrid and use it to create a cure.
Later, it’s revealed that the people who captured Jepperd and Aimee are Air Lords. The Air Lords take Jepperd and Aimee to their home base where they meet their leader, Dolly. Dolly agrees to help Jepperd and Aimee rescue the hybrids kids after Jepperd tells her that she’ll get to keep all of the Last Men’s supplies when they raid them. Elsewhere, Bear goes through training at Essex County High School to be a Last Man. She’s given her first mission later.
General Abbot returns to the Preserve and finds out that Rani has been moved from her room and that there was a minor security breach while he was away. Back in the pump house, Wendy and the other hybrids work on an escape plan while Gus stays to himself. Bobby walks up to Gus and uses his pliers to take off the collar around his neck. Then, he tells Gus he trusts him. Bobby points towards a vent on the wall and Gus lifts him so he can go through it. Wendy and the other hybrids notice Bobby leaving and ask him where he’s going. Bobby replies by saying that he’s going to go get help.
Back at Adi’s lab, Adi explains to General Abbot how he came up with a cure. He tells him that the chickens produce antibodies that fight the H5G9 virus. And once he combined the antibodies from the chickens with Dr. Bell’s secret sauce, it completely eradicated the virus. Abbot asks Adi how many doses of the cure he has so far and Adi replies only one. Abbot then takes it and leaves the lab.
Later, Adi, Rani, General Abbot, and Johnny have dinner to celebrate Adi producing a cure. During the dinner, General Abbot shares some background information about him and Johnny. Then, he receives word from one of his guards that the three finally want to hear his proposal. Rani asks what the proposal is and Abbot replies by saying that she’ll learn about it the next day. Adi is forced to join Abbot in a meeting with the three to give a presentation on his findings.
Back at the Air Lords base, Jepperd confesses to Aimee that he previously lied to her about what he did as a Last Man. He tells her that when he was a Last Man, his job was to round up the hybrids and bring them in. This upsets Aimee and she walks away.
At the pump house, Hulk and another guard enter the room after seeing Gus’s stuffed animal lying on the ground. As the guards terrorize the hybrids, Gus finds out that Peter was killed. He charges at the guards before running out the door. As he runs around the Preserve, he eventually bumps into Abbot.
Meanwhile, Bobby finds himself outside of the Preserve. As Bear is transported to her first mission alongside the teen boy (Jordan), she’s told by a high-ranked Last Men member that once the mission is completed, she’ll officially be a Last Man and receive the branding. The episode ends with Aimee and the Air Lords leaving Jepperd behind to go on the rescue mission. However, Jepperd steals a truck and travels to the Preserve by himself.
