Welcome to Eden season 2, episode 7 recap: Serpent

The seventh episode of Welcome to Eden season 2 opens with everyone on the island reeling from Ibon’s death. Zoa tells Bel she’s ready to go through with the rebellion and kill Astrid, but Bel tells her they should wait a couple of days because she feels they’re still emotional about Ibon’s death, and they need more time to think their plan through. However, Zoa is adamant about going through with the plan and convinces Bel to join her. Their plan is to kill Astrid later that day.

Zoa goes to Gabi’s module and warns her to stay away from Astrid for the day. Gabi promises Zoa that she’ll stay away from Astrid, but now she wants to know her plan. Zoa refuses to tell Gabi her plan to keep her safe, and although Gabi really wants to know, she doesn’t keep badgering Zoa for an answer.

At Astrid and Erick’s apartment, Astrid reveals to Erick that Gabi and Zoa have been lying to them the entire time because they’re actually sisters. However, Erick isn’t really bothered by this news because he’s still mad that Astrid lied to him about receiving a signal from New Eden. They argue, and then Erick tells Astrid that he’s leaving and taking Isaac with him. He packs his bags and leaves their apartment for now. Meanwhile, Charly steals an entire case of Blue Eden drinks and walks to a secluded place on the island to drink them.

In Alma’s module, Orson questions Alma about why she killed Ibon. Although Alma refuses to admit it, she obviously killed Ibon because she was jealous that he had moved on with Orson. But she tells Orson that she killed Ibon because it’s a part of her job and that anybody who wants to go to New Eden will have to do something they don’t want to do eventually.

Later, Zoa and Bel talk to Nuria at her module to discuss their plan to kill Astrid while Eloy starts setting up. The plan is for Astrid to come to Nuria’s module, and then Nuria will signal Zoa and Bel to blow it up with explosives, ultimately killing her and Astrid.

In Africa’s module, Africa consoles Erick. She tells him she has a plan to make him forget about Astrid. Africa then goes to Nuria’s module and asks her to clean it up because she, Erick, and possibly Isaac will stay there. While Africa talks to Nuria, Zoa, Bel, and Eloy, hide behind the module. Africa looks around and notices bombs are placed around the module. Now she knows someone plans to kill Astrid, so she quickly gets in her dune buggy to go tell Erick.

Zoa and Bel chase after Africa and eventually get her to stop because she reaches a dead end. They talk, and the conversation ends with Zoa and Bel making a deal with Africa. Africa tells Zoa and Bel that she won’t report to Erick about their plan to kill Astrid if she gets to leave the island with him once Astrid dies. Zoa and Bel agree to Africa’s terms and then tell her their terms. They tell Africa that they want to be in charge of Eden without Erick’s interference once Astrid dies. Africa agrees, and they shake on it.

Back at Astrid and Erick’s apartment, Astrid gets Som and Gabi to sign papers stating they want to stay at Eden and become members. Som signs the papers right away while Gabi hesitates. Gabi eventually signs the papers with her fake name, “Molly.” As Som and Gabi are about to leave the apartment, Astrid asks Gabi to stay to talk. During their conversation, Astrid tells Gabi that she knows she’s been lying about her relationship with Zoa and that her name isn’t Molly.

Elsewhere on the island, Erick teaches a class. Danae walks over to Erick with an inebriated Charly. Although Danae wants to punish him, Mayka is able to convince Erick to help her with Charly, and they bring him to the medical building. Charly starts convulsing, so Erick gives him a sedative. Erick then tells Mayka that Charly will be okay after sleeping it off.

Elsewhere on the island, Zoa makes the satellite go offline. Now, the plan to kill Astrid is in effect. Nuria sends a signal to Zoa and Bel that Astrid should be on her way to the module as they watch from afar. Astrid arrives at the module, and she and Nuria talk. However, the plan ultimately fails because Isaac shows up at the module, and Bel refuses to kill an innocent kid. But this doesn’t stop a desperate Zoa from still trying to hit the button to blow up the module. Zoa hits the button, but nothing happens. While Zoa and Bel are shocked by their plan failing, the guards arrive to take them away. Did someone rat out Zoa and Bel? Could it have been Africa?
