Anna Nicole Smith was a known figure and household name in the ’90s. While she was an actress, television personality, and model, it’s the latter she’s most recognized for. She became famous for being a Playboy magazine centerfold in May 1992 and was the Playmate of the Year in 1993.

During that time, she also modeled for fashion brands like Guess and H&M. When appearing in her first Guess campaign; she adopted the stage name we all know – Anna Nicole. That’s right. It’s not her real name! She was born Vickie Lynn Hogan.

Netflix has a new documentary coming up titled Anna Nicole Smith: You Don’t Know Me, which will feature her career, but more importantly, who she was as a person underneath the fame and sex appeal. The film is directed by Ursula Macfarlane, with Alexandra Lacey serving as a producer.

Is Anna Nicole Smith in You Don’t Know Me?

As revealed in the synopsis above, unfortunately, we won’t be able to hear from Smith herself in person (only through interviews and personal phone calls, according to TUDUM) because she died in February 2007 at 39 from an accidental drug overdose. We don’t know who the interviews will be with just yet, except for one of her oldest friends Melissa Byrum.

Smith had a son, Daniel Wayne Smith, who died at 20 in September 2006 from a combination of drugs, including methadone and antidepressants. She has a now 15-year-old daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead, who was only five months old when Smith passed. It’s not known if she is featured in the film.
