Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe recently returned to the big screen with a new horror movie titled The Pope’s Exorcist. It was initially released in theaters on April 14, 2023, in the United States. But will The Pope’s Exorcist be available to watch on Netflix in the future? Here’s what we know.

The Pope’s Exorcist is a supernatural horror film helmed by Julius Avery from a screenplay co-written by Michael Petroni and Evan Spiliotopoulos. It’s based on the memoirs An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories by Fr. Gabriele Amorth.

The story follows the chief exorcist for the Vatican as he investigates the horrifying possession of a young boy and unveils a centuries-old conspiracy the Vatican has tried to keep hidden.

Besides Crowe, the cast includes Daniel Zovatto, Alex Essoe, Franco Nero, Laurel Marsden, Peter DeSouza-Feighoney, Cornell S. John, and Ralph Ineson.

Will The Pope’s Exorcist be on Netflix?

Under the agreement, Netflix gets first pay window rights to Sony films following their theater releases. Since The Pope’s Exorcist is a Sony movie, it falls under the deal. But when exactly will the movie land on Netflix?
