Edgar Ramirez stars in what is bound to become this weekend’s most-watched new series, Florida Man, a show that attempts to take the zany “Florida Man” memes and combine them with the serialized storytelling of crime dramas like Ozark but with a more comedic slant. In fact, the show is produced by Ozark lead Jason Bateman, who is excited for fans of his Emmy-winning series to check out the new show.

All seven episodes of Florida Man season 1 dropped on Thursday, April 13, and some fans are already wondering if Netflix will renew it and make additional seasons. Here’s what we know about the possibility of Florida Man season 2 happening.

Has Netflix ordered Florida Man season 2?

No, Netflix has not renewed or canceled Florida Man, but the show is being billed as a “limited series,” meaning we should not necessarily expect Netflix to say anything about its future. All seven episodes were released on April 13, 2023, and streamers can take several weeks, or even months, to decide on a show’s fate. In the case of Florida Man, we’re not expecting Netflix to say anything unless the show outperforms expectations.

Previously, the Netflix series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story was only expected to be a limited series. However, because it quickly shot to the top of Netflix’s most-viewed shows of all time, it was picked up for a two-season renewal. If Florida Man does incredibly well, then it’s possible Netflix could shift gears and renew the show or make it an anthology.

But don’t expect that to happen. Most likely, Florida Man will be a one-and-done since it has a decent enough ending to wrap up the storylines.
