Netflix Beef cast and characters guide: Who stars in Netflix’s new tragicomedy?

When two people get into a nasty traffic incident caused by road rage, it sets off a dark chain of events that threatens to upend both of their lives. Beef is a newly released Netflix and A24 series starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong. Yeun plays a handyman desperate for money while Wong is a self-made entrepreneur with a seemingly perfect life.

Lee Sung Jin’s limited series plunges Wong and Yeun’s characters into a devastating battle that leads to an increasingly chaotic battle of revenge as the pair goes to crazy lengths to get revenge on one another for the road rage that kicks off the entire series. Meet the cast of Beef on Netflix

This dark comedy series stars comedian Ali Wong and Academy Award-nominated actor Steven Yeun.

Steven Yeun as Danny Cho

Danny is a struggling contractor who lives with his brother, Paul. He has aspirations of running a successful construction company and building a house so that the can move his parents back from Korea. With barely any money to his name, Danny is constantly under stress and looking for an easy way out.

Steven Yeun was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as Jacob Yi in the acclaimed 2021 drama film Minari. He also starred as Glenn Rhee on the popular post-apocalyptic series The Walking Dead for six seasons and voices the titular hero Mark Grayson in Prime Video’s Invincible.

Ali Wong as Amy Lau

Frustrated by her job and marriage, Amy hasn’t felt real happiness in years. She might be a wealthy, self-made businesswoman, but she’s also simmering with unresolved rage. The road rage incident with Danny gives her an outlet to funnel all of her anger.

Ali Wong is best known for her Netflix stand-up comedy specials and her romantic comedy film Always Be My Maybe. She also does voice acting for popular adult animated shows like Tuca & Bertie, Big Mouth, and Human Resources.

Young Mazino as Paul

Spending most of his life in his brother’s shadow, Paul comes across as apathetic and lazy at first. However, as the first season progresses, we see that the relationship between the brothers is far more complicated than it initially appears, and, more often than not, Paul gets the short end of the stick due to Danny’s manipulation.

Actor Young Mazino is a formally trained musician who has dabbled in the performance arts for years. You’ve seen him in shows like New Amsterdam, Blue Bloods, Blindspot, and Prodigal Son.

David Choe as Isaac

Danny’s cousin Isaac is all about doing whatever it takes to make a quick buck, even if that means aligning himself with dangerous people and getting involved in criminal activity. He and Danny get along well, but Isaac often butts heads with Paul.

Beef is one of David Choe’s first series regular roles on a television show. He’s better known for his podcast and journalism career.

Joseph Lee as George

George is Amy’s loyal and lovable artist husband who is completely unaware of what his wife is going through and oblivious to everything she’s hiding. He’s a great dad to their daughter, June, and a dependable son to his somewhat overbearing mother, Fumi.

Joseph Lee is an artist and actor who made his film debut opposite John Cho in the 2018 thriller Searching. He currently stars as Lt. Mura on the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Picard.

Patti Yasutake as Fumi

Fumi is George’s mother and Amy’s mother-in-law. She can be quite the handful, and there is often tension between Fumi and Amy. A pot-stirrer, Fumi causes some mischief in Beef season 1, but ultimately she really does want what’s best for her son.

Actress Patti Yasutake is best known for playing Nurse Alyssa Ogawa in the Star Trek franchise.
