Where was Murder Mystery 2 filmed?

Murder Mystery 2 is a new Netflix movie, and it serves as the sequel to the 2019 film Murder Mystery. Due to the first film’s success, Netflix commissioned a second film with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, reprising their roles in October 2019. Fans had been patiently waiting on new updates since then.

In August 2021, it was announced that Jeremy Garelick would be replacing Kyle Newacheck as director, and James Vanderbilt will be returning to write the screenplay. But the best news for fans came in early 2022 when the Murder Mystery 2 cast was revealed. With the announcement of the cast, fans knew that filming was slated to start soon or had already begun.

Although we do not have an exact filming start date, production had, in fact, started sometime in mid-January 2022 in a tropical location. So where was Murder Mystery 2 filmed?

On Jan. 17, Daily Mail reported filming for Murder Mystery 2 was underway in Oahu, Hawaii, with on-set photos. Jennifer Aniston later confirmed production had commenced with a beautiful photo of her and Adam Sandler on location in Hawaii on her Instagram.

The movie begins in Hawaii with Nick and Audrey Spitz being invited to a private island by their billionaire friend, Maharajas to celebrate his wedding to a French woman. According to National World, these scenes were shot at the Lanikuhonua Lagoon in Oahu, Hawaii.

Later, the movie’s setting moves to Paris, France after the Maharajas is abducted and taken to the city of love. Production took place in Paris at places such as the Arc de Triomphe, Palais Garnier – Opéra de Paris, the Eiffel Tower, and Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte. The cast and crew also shot at the Passerelle Léopold-Sédar-Senghor, a footbridge over the River Seine, and Les Cailloux, an Italian restaurant.

It’s unclear how long the cast and crew filmed in Hawaii before moving to Paris, but production is believed to have completely wrapped in late April 2022.
