Is Up Here starring Mae Whitman on Netflix? (where to watch)

If you have been missing Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist something bad since its cancellation and subsequent Christmas movie, there’s a new musical romantic comedy coming down the pipeline. Mae Whitman stars in the charming series Up Here, and it’s full of music and romance.

Up Here takes place in 1999 and centers on Whitman’s character Lindsay as she falls for Miguel (Carlos Valdes) and overcomes the obstacles on the way to a love and career she’s always dreamed of. The series comes from Dear Evan Hansen playwright Steven Levenson and Frozen songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopze.

Mae Whitman’s last live-action series regular role in a television series was the underrated NBC crime dramedy Good Girls. The four-season series found success by streaming on Netflix but wasn’t picked up for a fifth season. It’s great to see what the talented cast is up to now.

Is Up Here on Netflix?

Unfortunately, Up Here isn’t available to watch on Netflix. The musical romantic comedy series will be streaming exclusively on a different streaming service, which means it won’t be coming to Netflix at any point in the near future.

If you’re looking to watch Mae Whitman titles on Netflix, make sure to watch Good Girls, Arrested Development, The DUFF, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. (The latter two are available to stream as of March 2023.) Whitman also makes a cameo appearance in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life alongside her Parenthood mom and real-life friend Lauren Graham.

Up Here makes its premiere on Hulu on Friday, March 24. All eight episodes begin streaming on Hulu at the same time. While release times tend to vary with this particular platform, new episodes and seasons of series tend to drop at either 12 a.m. or 3 a.m. ET. In order to watch Up Here on Hulu, you will need to have a subscription.
