Close to Home: Murder in the Coalfield is a German crime miniseries directed by Till Franzen from scripts written by Frauke Hunfeld and Silke Zertz.

It follows Detective Maik Briegand as he investigates a gruesome murder in his hometown of Lauchhammer with help from LKA investigator Annalena Gottknecht. But as Maik works to crack the case, his past demons come back to haunt him, and he’s forced to confront them.

Odine Johne plays the role of Annalena Gottknecht, an LKA investigator who assists Maik in solving the murder case of a teenage girl. Johne is known for her roles in the shows Schule fürs LebenTatort and Leipzig Homicide. You might’ve also watched her in the films The WaveBrüderchen und SchwesterchenNordland and Agnes.
