Will 65 starring Adam Driver be on Netflix?

Adam Driver returns to the big screen with his new film titled 65, and it’s now available to watch in theaters everywhere. But will we Netflix Lifers ever get to see this movie hit the streamer? Here’s what we know.

65 is a science fiction film written and helmed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. It’s about a pilot who crash lands on a strange planet only to realize later that he traveled through time and is stranded on planet Earth about 65 million years ago. But he’s not the only survivor. A young girl named Koa joins him as they traverse through an unknown territory infested with dangerous prehistoric creatures.

Besides Driver, the cast is made up of Ariana Greenblatt, Chloe Coleman, Nika King, and Brian Dare.

Will 65 be on Netflix after theaters?

06/26/23 Update: 65 is confirmed to be coming to Netflix on July 8.

Yes, 65 will most likely make its way to Netflix sometime after its theater release due to Netflix’s multiyear, exclusive first pay window licensing deal with Sony Pictures. If you weren’t aware, 65 is being distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing in the U.S.

So, when will the sci-fi movie come to Netflix? Well, that’s where things become a bit unclear. However, What’s On Netflix reports that we could possibly see the movie hit Netflix 120 days after its premiere (March 10). This is the earliest we’ve seen a Sony film arrive on Netflix after its theater release. So, we could see 65 be added to Netflix on July 8, 2023.

The latest we’ve seen a Sony movie be added to Netflix is 168 days after its premiere. If this release pattern is followed for 65, we won’t see it land on Netflix until Aug. 25, 2023. But remember that there isn’t an official release pattern for when Sony movies arrive on Netflix. So the sci-fi film could come to Netflix earlier or later than the dates above. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens. What we do know is that once the movie lands on Netflix, it will remain on the platform for 18 months before departing.
