When is New Girl leaving Netflix? (And where is it streaming after?)

After a non-Netflix original series has called the streamer home for an extended period of time, there inevitably comes the fear that said show could leave at any moment. Unfortunately, it’s about that time for New Girl fans to worry.

New Girl aired from 2011 to 2018 for seven season and starred Zooey Deschanel in the lead of the ensemble cast as the lovable teacher Jess Day. After a bad breakup, Jess moves into a loft with three men she meets via an online ad, and it turns out the be the best decision ever.

The Fox comedy series has streamed on Netflix for many years and remains one of the biggest acquired comedies currently on the streaming service. Until now, its availability hasn’t really been in question in the US, but over the past few years, it’s come and gone in worldwide territories.

Since New Girl will has left Netflix in select territories around the world, fans of the beloved comedy series are probably wondering when their favorite show will be picking up and moving to another streamer. We shared the answers below.

In short, yes, New Girl will be leaving Netflix on Monday, April 17, 2023. TV Line shared the news on the fan-favorite sitcom’s removal on March 10, 2023. The news gives fans about a month to prepare one last binge-watch before it bids Netflix adieu in April.

Where to watch New Girl after it leaves Netflix

Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about New Girl going into the vault, never to be binged again. After all seven seasons leave Netflix on April 17, the complete series will be available to stream on both Hulu and Peacock. In order to watch New Girl on Hulu and/or Peacock, you will need to have a subscription to each platform.

New Girl’s move to Hulu makes sense, given that the series was produced and distributed by 20th Century Fox, which is now owned by Disney… which currently co-owns Hulu. As for it’s move to Peacock, it’s an excellent decision as the streaming service currently boasts some of the best sitcoms fans love rewatching.

For now, fans have until Sunday, April 16, 2023 to watch New Girl on Netflix.
