Netflix Faraway cast: Who’s in the German rom-com?

A new romantic comedy we recommend adding to your watchlist for the weekend is Faraway. It’s the perfect film to watch with a loved one, and we’re excited to tell you all about it!

Faraway is a German Netflix original movie directed by Vanessa Jopp from a screenplay written by Jane Ainscough. Like many other Netflix films, Faraway is based on another piece of work. It’s based on a story idea by Alex Kendall. In addition, the production companies behind the movie are Olga Film and Pakt Media.

The story follows Zeynep Altin, a woman at her wits’ end. She feels overworked and underappreciated by all her loved ones. And to make matters worse, the funeral home that dressed her recently deceased mother put her in a suit instead of a dress. Fed up with how her life is going, Zeynep escapes to a Croatian island to a cottage her mother secretly bought years ago and left for her in her will. She hopes to find peace and relaxation during her stay, but her plans are thwarted when she sees the cottage’s former owner still living on the property.

Swiss actress Naomi Krauss stars in the leading role of Zeynep Altin. You might recognize her from her previous roles in Tatort, The International, 8 Uhr 28, Was wenn der Tod uns scheidet?, Police Call 110, SOKO Stuttgart, Your Color and Leipzig Homicide.

Goran Bogdan stars opposite Krauss as Josip, the former cottage owner. You might know him from his previous roles in Neighbors Forever, Na terapiji, The Last Panthers, Fargo, Faith and Conspiracy, Black Sun, Mocvara, Vreme zla, Father, Sonja and the Bull and Agape.
