Fans of the beloved Colombian telenovela Pasión de Gavilanes received a pleasant surprise recently when opened Netflix to discover that the entire second season has been added. Released 20 years after the successful first season, Pasión de Gavilanes season 2 has already become a hit on Netflix. But those who have raced through all 80+ of the newly available episodes might be curious if Pasión de Gavilanes season 3 is in the works.

The long-running series originally finished airing in 2003, so it surprised fans when NBC and Telemundo announced the show would be returning two decades later with a new season. Fittingly, the second season takes place 20 years after the events of the first season, following up on the Reyes brothers and Elizondo sisters now that they’re together and one big happy family, so to speak.

Their happiness is jeopardized when a professor is murdered, and one of their sons is implicated in the victim’s death. You’ll have to watch season 2 to find out what happens. But if you’re here, you probably finished it and are eager to know if the story will continue.

Pasión de Gavilanes season 3 renewal status

As of March 2023, there has been no news regarding Pasión de Gavilanes season 3. Even though the new season was only added to Netflix recently, it should be noted that season 2 actually came out in the first half of 2022.

While the first season of the show is considered to be one of the best telenovelas of all time and very popular, the reaction to season 2 was slightly more mixed, so it’s unclear if Telemundo will proceed with Pasión de Gavilanes season 3.

It’s possible that the show could get picked up or renewed by Netflix since the streamer has produced its own telenovelas in the past, but for now, we don’t have any indication as to what the future of this show holds.

On the plus side, Pasión de Gavilanes has more than 200 episodes available to watch right now, featuring both the acclaimed first season and the sequel season. So at least fans have plenty of content to revisit whenever they’re missing the show and want to see what the Reyes and Elizondo families are up to!
