Does Marienne die in You season 4 part 2? (spoilers)

You season 4 part 2 is streaming on Netflix, and a lot happens in the final episodes of the season. Several characters died in part 1, but even more characters met their demise in part 2. Was Marienne (Tati Gabrielle) one of those characters? Find out below.

The last time we saw Marienne, she was boarding her train to Paris. Well, this is what we were led to believe. In You season 4 part 2, we find out that Joe didn’t let Marienne get on the train as he said he would. Instead, he kidnaps her and brings her to an apartment where he keeps her for days. After time has passed, Joe brings Marienne to an abandoned building and locks her in a glass cage. Why is Joe doing all of this? Well, he doesn’t even realize what he’s doing. Somehow he has dissociated from reality and reverted back to his old ways.

Marienne repeatedly begs Joe to let her go, but he ignores her pleas. He continues to bring her food every day until one day he stops. Fortunately for Marienne, Nadia grows suspicious of Joe and starts snooping around to find out more about him. Her search leads her to the abandoned building, where she sees Marienne locked up in the cage.

Marienne explains to Nadia how dangerous Joe is and tells her not to let Joe catch her. Nadia takes heed of what Marienne says and comes up with an escape plan. But does the plan work, or does Joe catch Marienne and kill her?

Does Marienne die in You season 4 part 2?

Fortunately, Marienne does not die in You season 4 part 2 because she and Nadia’s plan worked. Their plan involved Marienne taking beta blockers to slow her heart rate and make it seem like she had died from a drug overdose.

Once Joe finds Marienne’s seemingly lifeless body, he removes her from the cage and puts her on a bench outside. Nadia follows Joe and waits for him to leave before coming out of hiding and giving Marienne an injection to wake her up. The last time we see Marienne is in the final moments of the season finale. She’s back in Paris with her daughter, no longer having to live life in fear.
