Who wins Next in Fashion season 2? (spoilers!)

Next in Fashion season 2 is here! Find out which of the talented designers is crowned the winner of the sophomore season.

This design competition series has turned into an underdog worth rooting for after Netflix canceled the series shortly after its debut in 2020. Surprisingly, a couple of years later, Netflix announced that it was reversing its decision and renewing the show, albeit with a few changes.

Former co-host Alexa Chung is not participating in the show’s second season, instead replaced by supermodel and influencer Gigi Hadid. Hadid takes over Chung’s co-hosting duties alongside Queer Eye star Tan France, who returns from season 1.

Spoilers ahead for Next in Fashion season 2

Next in Fashion season 2 introduces us to 12 new designers all vying for the win. In the first season, the winning designer received $250,000 and a chance to launch their winning collection on the luxury fashion website Net-a-Porter. For Next in Fashion season 2, the prizes include $200,000 and the opportunity to launch a collection via the e-commerce platform Rent the Runway.

Who wins Next in Fashion season 2?

Atlanta-based designer Nigel Xavier is the winner of Next in Fashion season 2. The finale comes down to him, Bao Tranchi, and Deontré Hancock. Ultimately, the judges choose Nigel as the winner.

During the finale episode, Bao, Nigel, and Deontré must design eight specific looks as part of a cohesive collection. Unlike previous challenges, they get several days to complete the work this time and a few team members to assist with sewing and pulling the looks together.

Taking advice from the judges, Nigel dresses multiple female models for his collection and creates a truly dynamic and compelling line of clothes that perfectly accentuates his style. Throughout the season, we’ve seen Nigel’s talent over and over again, particularly in the way he deftly manipulates textiles and creates his own patchwork designs.

His work is versatile and cutting-edge, it’s easy to see why he ultimately won the second season, although all three of the finalists were incredibly talented. It certainly wasn’t an easy choice.
