Netflix Cheat synopsis: What is Cheat about? (release date, prize, and more)

You know how you’re always told that it’s bad to cheat? Well, new Netflix quiz show, apporpriately titled Cheat, allows the contestants to do the exact opposite! And actually in this competition, that’s what you’re expected to do.

The series was filmed in front of a studio audience, and developed by Giles Boden, Laura Gibson, and Charlie Bennett. Executive producers on the series include Jamie Rea and Jonno Richards. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of its release!

Netflix Cheat release date

The quiz show will make its Netflix debut on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. There are a total of 12 episodes to look forward to. The installments will be spread across three weeks, with four episodes dropping March 1, followed by four more on March 8, and the final four on March 15.

What are the rules and prize in Netflix’s Cheat?

Cheat combines brains, wit, and straight-faced lying as four contestants compete in each episode, per the synopsis. Their knowledge is put to the test through three rounds, and sometimes they may have to bluff their way to the top without being eliminated. And that’s because there’s the potential to build a jackpot of over £50,000. The one thing they have to do, is not get caught.

Who are the Cheat hosts?

Taking on MC duties are British actors and television personalities Danny Dyer and Ellie Taylor. You may know Dyer from his work on coming-of-age drama Human Traffic, as well as BBC soap opera EastEnders. Taylor has appeared on a number of shows like comedy series 8 Out of 10 Cats and British reality series Snog Marry Avoid?. The talent is also known for her stand-up comedy, with one of her shows being a part of Comedians of the World on Netflix.
