In the new season of Outer Banks, our Pogues begin season 3 by living their best lives on the desert island they’ve affectionately dubbed Poguelandia. They’re spending their days fishing, riding waves and just living the Pogue life to the fullest. As much as they love the island, that doesn’t mean they’ve given up on trying to get back home and it doesn’t take long before they’re able to flag down a plan that provides them with a ride to Barbados.

Craziness soon ensues, but after sorting some things out and jumping through a few hoops, the Pogues come together and set their sights on returning home to the Outer Banks. With some quick thinking from Kiara, the Pogues get their hands on a boat that allows them to travel back home — a move that has left many wondering whether you can actually travel from Barbados to Outer Banks by boat.

Can you travel from Barbados to Outer Banks by boat?

Technically speaking, yes, it is possible to travel from Barbados to Outer Banks by boat, but it would be a long and challenging journey. The distance between Barbados and Outer Banks is approximately 1,812.37 miles, which would take several days or even weeks to cover depending on the type of boat being used and the weather conditions.

The journey would involve navigating through the open ocean and potentially encountering challenging weather conditions, such as strong winds, high waves, and storms. Additionally, you would need to have the necessary navigational equipment, provisions, and safety gear to ensure a safe journey.

While it is possible to travel from Barbados to Outer Banks by boat, it is a challenging journey that requires careful planning, preparation, and experience — all of which the Pogues lack in Outer Banks season 3.

How long would it take to travel from Barbados to Outer Banks on boat?

If the Pogues were traveling at a speed of 15 knots (roughly 17 miles per hour), it would take them at least four days and ten hours to make it from Barbados to Outer Banks on boat. This estimate is simply a standard estimate provided by BednBlue which does not factor in the type of boat or weather, so it’s important to note that this is simply a rough estimate of how long it could take as there are other factors that could create a longer travel time.

Given the speed at which the Pogues arrive back in Outer Banks, it seems safe to assume they had smooth sailing and did not hit any rough patches. As such, it’s likely they made it back home after a few days, even if this fact isn’t directly touched upon and made clear in the show.

Outer Banks season 3 is streaming now on Netflix.
