Unlocked is a Korean thriller based on a popular Japanese novel previously adapted into a movie titled Stolen Identity. This 2023 movie follows a woman stalked and terrorized by a man after he finds her lost phone and installs spyware onto it, infiltrating every facet of her life.

Using the phone to track her every move, Lee Na-mi finds her entire world turned upside down. Unlocked is a scary thrill ride crossed with some elements of a dark detective story and should appeal to fans of things like Mindhunter and You.

Based on the true crime book titled Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, Mindhunter is an addictive psychological crime thriller series that lasted two seasons on Netflix. Executive produced by acclaimed filmmaker David Fincher (Gone Girl, Zodiac), Mindhunter has fostered a devoted and loyal fanbase over the years.

Unfortunately, Fincher opted to pursue other projects, so its unclear if we will ever get a third season, but for now the first two are certainly worth watching. If you’re someone who likes watching Criminal Minds or is interested in criminal profiling, then Mindhunter will appeal to you. This show follows FBI agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) as they develop modern serial killer profiling.
