Outer Banks season 3 and 9 more Netflix teen shows coming in 2023

XO, Kitty

A new teen series expected to hit Netflix this year is XO, Kitty. It’s a romantic drama created by Jenny Han and is a spinoff of the To All the Boys film series. Besides creating the show, Han is also the co-showrunner. Additionally, she wrote the scripts and served as an executive producer.

XO, Kitty is set in the same world as the To All the Boys films and follows teen matchmaker Kitty Covey as she goes on her own journey to find true love. Kitty thought she knew all there is to know about romance, but she quickly finds out love is a lot more complicated when she’s the one experiencing it.

Anna Cathcart plays the role of Kitty. The rest of the cast is made up of Choi Min-yeong, Anthony Keyvan, Gia Kim, Sang Heon Lee, Peter Thurnwald, Regan Aliyah, Yunjin Kim, Michael K. Lee, and Jocelyn Shelfo.

Production took place in Seoul, South Korea, and wrapped sometime in June 2022. Unfortunately, we don’t have an official release date yet, but our guess is that we’re looking at a spring or summer 2023 release. We doubt that Netflix will hold the release until the fall because that seems unnecessary.

Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action series

Another Netflix teen show expected to come out in 2023 is Avatar: The Last Airbender. There’s even speculation that it will come out in the summertime. If this rumor becomes true, we’re confident it will be one of the biggest releases of the summer.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is an upcoming live-action series that was adapted from the popular animated series of the same name by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. It was first announced in September 2018 with the original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, on board as executive producers and showrunners. However, they later bowed out from production. Albert Kim ended up taking over as showrunner, wrote the scripts for all eight episodes of the first season, and served as an executive producer.

The fantasy series centers on the adventures of Aang, the Avatar and the last living Airbender, and his friends as they work together to save the world by taking down the Fire Nation.

Gordon Cormier portrays the role of Aang. Kiawentiio (Katara), Ian Ousley (Sokka), Dallas Liu (Zuko), Elizabeth Yu (Azula), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Iroh), Daniel Dae Kim (Fire Lord Ozai), Maria Zhang (Suki), Tamlyn Tomita (Yukari), Yvonne Chapman (Avatar Kyoshi) and Casey Camp-Horinek (Gran Gran) are also in the cast.
