Does Joe die in You season 4 part 1?

Everyone’s watching or has already watched You season 4 part 1 on Netflix. As expected, there are several character deaths in the first part of the fourth season. Does Joe finally meet his demise in You season 4 part 1? We answered this burning question down below!

At the beginning of season 4, viewers learn that Joe has made his way to London from Paris and now goes by the name of Jonathan Moore. His goal is to start a new life by laying low and working as a professor at a university.

However, it’s hard for Joe to have a fresh start with a mysterious killer/anonymous texter out to get him. The mysterious killer wants to frame Joe for their murders and figure out who he really is. Obviously, this isn’t good for Joe, so he quickly works to figure out whose behind it all. But does Joe crack the case, or does the mysterious killer get to him before he gets the chance to?

Does Joe die in You season 4 part 1?

Fortunately, Joe doesn’t die in part 1. But did you really think the writers would kill off the protagonist? I mean, it’s possible because we’ve seen this happen in other shows, but I think Joe has a lot of fight left in him. We’ve seen Joe make it out of situations that seemed impossible to get out of time and time again.

However, there were several times in part 1 when Joe escaped death. The first time is when he finds Marienne. When Joe finally tracks Marienne down, Marienne pulls a knife on him and threatens to hurt him. But Joe manhandles Marienne and gets her to drop the knife before he kicks it far away. Honestly, I knew Joe had this under control and wouldn’t be harmed.

The second time is when Vic finds Joe in the crypt watching Kate mourn Malcolm. Vic pulls a gun on him, and they eventually start tussling on the ground. The gun goes off at one point in their fight, and a bullet goes through Joe’s shoe. But since Joe is missing some of his toes, he wasn’t injured. Eventually, Joe gets the upper hand and kills Vic by strangling him to death with his own tie.

The last time Joe has a near-death experience is in the final episode of part 1. Rhys locks Joe and Roald in the basement of Phoebe’s country house and sets it on fire. However, Joe breaks the chains on his wrists and frees Roald. Then, Kate finds Joe and Roald in the basement and helps them out.

So, Joe does not die in You season 4 part 1. But, who knows, he might finally meet his end in You season 4 part 2. We’ll just have to wait and see.
