The Night Agent is coming to Netflix soon, and a few weeks before the release date, Netflix dropped the official trailer for the series.

Mark your calendar and clear your schedule because The Night Agent will be arriving on Netflix on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET.

What is The Night Agent about?

The Night Agent is an upcoming Netflix original series created by Shawn Ryan. He also serves as showrunner. You might know Ryan as the creator of the former drama series The Shield and co-creator of the action drama series S.W.A.T. Back in 2020, Ryan announced to the world that he would be creating a television adaptation of the 2019 bestselling novel of the same name by Matthew Quirk. Netflix liked the idea and decided to hand out a series order in July 2021.

Ryan executive produced through his MiddKid Productions. Other executive producers include Seth Gordon, Marney Hochman, Julia Gunn, Jamie Vanderbilt, William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, Nicole Tossou, and David Beaubaire. In addition, the action-thriller comes from Sony Pictures Television Studios.

The Night Agent episode count

The Night Agent cast

Gabriel Basso leads the cast as the protagonist, Peter Sutherland. He’s best known for his previous roles in Super 8, The Kings of Summer, The Big C, American Wrestler: The Wizard and Hillbilly Elegy.

Luciane Buchanan stars opposite Basso as Rose Larkin. You might recognize Buchanan from her roles in Filthy Rich, Baby Mama’s Club, Stray, The New Legends of Monkey, Sweet Tooth and Under the Vines.

The Night Agent synopsis

Netflix shared the official synopsis for The Night Agent: 

"Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office"
