Another weekend gone, another two episodes of Crash Course in Romance done. Time is going by far too quickly with this series!

According to My Drama List, there are 16 episodes of the series. This means we’re now officially halfway through Netflix’s K-Drama Crash Course in Romance, and things are only becoming more and more exciting each episode! Having said this, below you can see a full recap of what happened in the two latest episodes of the series.

Crash Course in Romance episode 7 recap

Episode 7 begins with Haeng-seon and Chi-yeol almost getting caught by Soo-ah and her mother. Luckily, Haeng-seon is able to warn Chi-yeol via a phone call, which stops him from walking into her store, saving their secret… for now.

In the September 2022 mock exams, Hae-e comes out on top, which Su-a is definitely not happy about. She displays great stress and jealousy over this and is even admitted into a hospital due to her stomach playing up (presumably caused by pressure and stress).

Meanwhile, the young detective Bae Jung-soo is continuing to look into the mysterious “metal balls” case. Whilst out eating with Detective Song, Jung-soo spots a young man who looks extremely familiar. He rushes back to the office and realizes that he recognizes this young man as Lee Hee-jae (Sun-jae’s mysterious brother).

Back to the romance plot, Chi-yeol starts to fall face first in love with Haeng-seon. His feelings are only encouraged when he hurts his wrist whilst playing a ball game and Haeng-seon helps him by placing ice on the injury.

To try and “get his adrenaline levels back to normal,” Chi-yeol starts to see another woman: a pianist. He believes if he starts seeing someone, his feelings for Haeng-seon will fade and he can find a logical explanation for them.

At the end of the episode, Haeng-seon suggests Chi-yeol visit an acupuncture doctor — one she used to see all the time during her sports days. The two of them visit the doctor together, before they decide to go and eat dinner together. They arrive at Haeng-seon mother’s old restaurant, and Chi-yeol realizes it seems very familiar to him…

Crash Course in Romance episode 8 recap

The episode opens with Haeng-seon and Chi-yeol eating in Haeng-seon mother’s old restaurant together. Some backstory is revealed and it turns out that Chi-yeol was the young man (shown in earlier episodes) who used to visit Haeng-seon mother’s restaurant. Chi-yeol puts two and two together and understands why he can only seem to stomach Haeng-seon’s food, and that is because her mother’s food used to bring him comfort during his studies.

Meanwhile, Jang Seo-jin becomes extremely suspicious of her son, Hee-jae. She even goes as far as to download a tracking app so that she may see where he is at all times. Back with Haeng-seon, a new landlord takes over her building. This landlord installs AC for her and even halves her rent. It is later revealed that Chi-yeol is this new mysterious landlord.

Chi-yeol goes to attend a piano recital for the woman he is seeing. However, during the interval, Hae-e calls him. She explains that she is struggling with getting onto a website for their tutoring. Whilst on the phone, Chi-yeol hears Haeng-seon hurt herself in the background. He becomes immediately concerned and decides to leave the recital early so that he may go back to make sure she’s okay.

The mystery of the plot continues to unravel. Su-a and her mother become even more suspicious of our main two protagonists and eventually they figure out something is definitely going on. Meanwhile, a hooded figure (suspected to be Hee-jae, however we didn’t see a face) murders Chi-yeol’s biggest hater on the roof of an apartment building.

The episode ends with Chi-yeol sitting with Haeng-seon, Hae-e and Jae-woo. They all have “chicken night” together and everything seems well… until the very end of the episode. When Haeng-seon and Chi-yeol walk out together, the mothers from the All Care Program pull up and corner the pair, which is where our story concludes until next weekend.

It’s clear the tension is definitely rising and what a cliffhanger to end on! Will Chi-yeol and Haeng-seon be able to lie and convince the All Care mothers that nothing is going on, or is their secret finally going to be leaked out into the open? We’ll have to wait until this weekend to find out!
