What is Norwegian horror film Viking Wolf (Vikingulven) about?

It’s always a good time for a new horror movie, and Netflix has a couple coming out this February, like The Strays, Re/Member, and Viking Wolf. Viking Wolf, or Vikingulven as it’s called in Norway, has been promoted as the country’s first werewolf movie.

Based on the trailer, the upcoming creature feature seems to hit a lot of familiar beats, including a teenager being turned into one of these monstrous wolves and becoming a threat to her family and friends. Arriving Friday, February 3, Viking Wolf promises to be a scary, dark teen scream.

Viking Wolf plot synopsis

The story follows 17-year-old Thale, who witnesses a horrific murder at a party and then starts experiencing bizarre urges and visions. In the trailer, it’s hinted that Thale witnesses a werewolf attack and gets bitten in the skirmish, resulting in her being turned into one herself.

At least one supernatural hunter suggests he’s determined to hunt down the werewolf plaguing their town and end the bloodline once and for all, meaning Thale could be at risk if that’s the direction the story goes.

IMDb shares the following synopsis:

"Thale (17) has just moved with her parents to a small town after her mother [gets] a new job [with] the local police. After a student is killed brutally at a party Thale attends, she becomes a key witness. Was the killer an animal? A wolf?"
