We are currently on episode 6 of the Korean Drama, Crash Course in Romance (currently streaming on Netflix) and already things are definitely getting interesting, in both the romance field and the mystery field! Just as a heads up, episode 6 explored some heavy themes that may be distressing for some viewers, so please keep that in mind when going into this episode.

Crash Course in Romance episode 6 was most certainly an exciting one and below you can read all about what happened!

Crash Course in Romance: What happens in episode 6?

At the beginning of the episode, Haeng-seon and her best friend, Kim Young-joo, have a falling out as Young-joo is upset that Haeng-seon didn’t tell her beforehand about the private tutoring sessions with Chi-yeol. Haeng-seon soon manages to cheer her up however, and the two of them get back to talking, with Young-joo immediately teasing Haeng-seon about the possibility of getting together with Chi-yeol.

Meanwhile, after explaining to his assistant why he was at Haeng-seon’s house (for the private tutoring) Choi Chi-yeol is made aware that a post about him was shared by his biggest hater. This post outlined how Chi-yeol was allegedly involved in a scandal with a student before she took her own life.

Chi-yeol seeks out an old colleague to ask more about the case, to which the colleague reveals that the mother of the student eventually went mad and took her own life too. Her son, however, was with her at the time, which led to the police arresting him for her “murder.” This young man was acquitted and released, according to the detective.

We then see a flashback about the student’s life before she died. Her name was Su-hyeon and she was a great student. She had a good relationship with Chi-yeol and he helped her with her studies. However, it is revealed that one day, the exam papers are leaked. Su-hyeon’s mother gave Su-hyeon these papers as a “test” before the real exam. During the real exam, Su-hyeon realises it is identical to the “test papers” she did and she tells Chi-yeol.

Chi-yeol confronts the education director about the matter and he lost his job as a result. Due to the stress of the situation and her final exams being completely ruined because of her mother and the education director, Su-hyeon took her own life, knowing she wouldn’t be able to go forward and do what she wants due to this scandal.

At the police station, a young detective has started to look into the mysterious metal balls that have been found laying on the pavement outside of a woman’s house. He believes these metal balls could possibly be the same as a small, shiny object he spotted in the CCTV footage the night the student (who replaced Hae-yi on the All Care Program) died.

Haeng-seon, Nam Jae-woo, and Hae-yi all go camping at the weekend. They spot Chi-yeol there, as he too decided to take a weekend break. After the weekend, Chi-yeol offers to take the three of them home, and this is the first time we see Chi-yeol smile about Haeng-seon, which is great content for all the viewers out there who are rooting for these two (so basically… everyone).

Hae-yi and Sun-jae share a day out and at the end of the day, Hae-yi tells Sun-jae about Chi-yeol giving her resources to work on. Sun-jae promises to keep this secret safe and it’s overall a very heartwarming moment between the two.

The episode ended with Bang Soo-ah and her mother spying on Chi-yeol from their car, making it seem like they are about to catch him out when he enters Haeng-seon’s restaurant, however we’ll have to wait until next week to see how that ends.
