Aside from the story of redemption, revenge, and forgiveness, the beauty of Vinland Saga is that we get to watch the protagonist, Thorfinn, grow both mentally and physically.

When we first met Thorfinn, he was a 6-year-old young boy full of life and joy. He was around the same age when he lost his father, Thors Snorresson, at the hands of his sworn enemy, Askeladd.

According to the anime series’ wiki, Thorfinn then spent the next 11 years with Askeladd, waiting for the proper moment to take his life and finally avenge his father. However, once Askeladd passed away, the hours meshed into days, days into weeks, and weeks into years, making it difficult to keep up with how old Thorfinn is in the brand-new season.

How old is Thorfinn at the start of Vinland Saga season 2?

At the start of Vinland Saga season 2, Thorfinn is around 19 years old. He was around 17 years old when Askeladd passed away and then spent two years in slavery for the time being. However, as you might have guessed, he won’t stay this young forever.

How old will Thorfinn be at the end of Vinland Saga season 2?

Season 2 adapts the majority of The Slave Arc, so we can expect Thorfinn to age very slightly. Should Netflix go on to adapt the entire arc, Throfinn will be approximately 22 years old by the end of The Slave Arc.

According to Thorfinn’s wiki page, he will stay 22 years old for quite some time before he finally ages up again. If Netflix adapts Vinland Saga to the end, we can certainly expect to see Thorfinn much, much older. How old he will be remains to be seen.
