Netflix recently released a trailer for the new documentary series Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal, set to be released next month. Directed by Julia Willoughby Nason and Jenner Furst, this series will take a deep, insightful dive into the true story of the Murdaugh family and their morbid history.

Here are the details of the three-part series that were provided in the description of the trailer released by Netflix earlier this week:

"“The Murdaughs were one of South Carolina’s most prominent families, but the death of teenager Mallory Beach in a drunken boating accident began the unraveling of their legacy. When Paul Murdaugh – the alleged driver of the boat – and his mother Maggie are found brutally murdered, a century of corruption, power, and cover-ups in the Low Country is brought to light.”"

This is a documentary series, so Netflix also stated that we’d be seeing “first-hand accounts from those on the boat that fateful night, many of whom have not spoken about the crash or double homicide of Maggie and Paul until now.”

Having said this, it is safe to say that never before heard information surrounding this case will be released via these new points of view, which will be a lot for the budding crime detectives out there to digest.
