The second week of the year is here and with it comes a few new movies and shows to Netflix. There aren’t a ton of new things coming this week, but you might be interested in what is headed to the streaming service. It includes a new season of a Viking show, a new documentary series about tennis, and a new season of an action-adventure show from Spain.

Season 2 of Vikings: Valhalla is headed to Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023. The series is a spin-off of the original Vikings series and is set 100 years after. It focuses on Leif Erikson, Harald Hardrada, and Norman King William the Conqueror.

In the new season, the show travels well beyond Northern Europe and Scandinavia, and Leif, Freydis, and Harald are running from Olaf’s army. But Freydis will have to go on a journey of her own and Leif and Harald will start on an epic journey that they could have never imagined.

More in the mood for a docu-series? Break Point is coming to Netflix on Friday, Jan. 13. The series follows professional tennis players as they compete in four different Grand Slam tournaments.

Some of the athletes and commentators featured in the show include Maria Sharapova, John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Nick Kyrgios, Paula Badosa, Matteo Berrettini, Taylor Fritz, Ons Jabeur, Casper Ruud, Aryna Sabalenka, Maria Sakkari, Ajla Tomljanović, and Félix Auger-Aliassime.

Sky Rojo is also coming back for season 3 on Friday, Jan. 13. The series follows Cora, Wendy, and Gina, three sex workers escaping their abusive pimp and his henchman.  In season 3, the three women are happy to be settling down in their new life in a remote fishing village.

Unfortunately, Romeo and Moisés are still looking for revenge so their new peace may not last for long. And that realization becomes quite clear when the three see two hitmen appear while they are out fishing. The past is never too far away for Cora, Gina, and Wendy.
