Outer Banks season 3 release date confirmed (see the first-look photos!)

It’s time to reunite with our favorite Pogues because Outer Banks season 3 is right around the corner! The fan-favorite teen drama has been a major staple for Netflix since first premiering in 2020, and we all have been waiting on the edge of our seats for news about the upcoming installment. After that major cliffhanger in the final moments of season 2, we want answers now! And fortunately, we don’t have to wait much longer to see what happens next.

Netflix just gave us a New Year’s treat with the official announcement of the Outer Banks season 3 release date, as well as the first-look photos. As expected, there’s high tension and action for the Pogues this season (and even for the Kooks!), and I don’t think the gang will be able to stay in Poguelandia forever, unfortunately.

Outer Banks season 3 release date

We won’t have to wait until the summertime to travel to the sunny and warm Outer Banks, as OBX season 3 is heading to Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023. Unlike other recent releases, the new season will not be split into two parts and will drop all at once on the premiere date. Mark your calendars! Season 3 will consist of 10 one-hour episodes.

At Netflix’s TUDUM event in September, the streamer dropped the first teaser for Outer Banks season 3. It looks amazing! Watch:

Along with the release date and photos, Netflix also just released the synopsis, giving us a hint as to what we can expect:

"After losing the gold and fleeing the Outer Banks, Season 3 finds the Pogues washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home. Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling. But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together."
