Young Royals season 3 release: When could the final episodes arrive?

Young Royals season 2 was only released in November 2022, but fans of the Swedish teen drama romance, set in the fictional elite boarding school Hillerska, are already looking to the future and wondering when Young Royals season 3 could find its way back on Netflix. So will there be a Young Royals season 3? And if so, when could it be released? Find out this and more below!

What is Young Royals about?

To recap, Young Royals follows Prince Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding) as he enrolls and adjusts to life at the prestigious boarding school, Hillerska. However, when he connects with a fellow student the young prince is forced to choose between duty and love. The official synopsis, via Netflix’s Media Center, reads:

"“When Prince Wilhelm arrives at the prestigious boarding school Hillerska he finally gets an opportunity to explore his true self and find out what kind of life he really wants. Wilhelm starts dreaming of a future filled with freedom and unconditional love far away from the royal obligations – but when he unexpectedly becomes next in line for the throne his dilemma is heightened as he has to make a choice. Love or duty.”"

Is Young Royals season 3 happening?

Fans of the Swedish teen drama will be thrilled to learn that Netflix confirmed that it had renewed the show for a third season on Dec. 14, 2022. Taking to Twitter, Netflix shared a still of Prince Wilhelm and Simon holding hands, with the caption: “Simon + Wilhelm forever? Young Royals will return for a third and final season.”

Is there a Young Royals season 3 release date?

As of the beginning of January, Young Royals season 3 doesn’t have a confirmed release date, but given it’s only recently been renewed, fans shouldn’t worry. Young Royals season 1 was released in July 2021, followed by season two on 1 November 2022. So, with that in mind, we hope to see season 3 by late 2023, or early 2024.
