Kaleidoscope recap: Red: The Morning After the Heist

It’s the morning after the heist, and it looks like nothing went according to plan. Leo’s opening voiceover laments the moments when everything started going wrong, and the episode begins with the crew meeting up at their headquarters, only to discover that several people are missing. Only Judy and Leo are there, and none of them trust each other right now. None of them have the bonds, and they don’t know where they are at the moment. Stan shows up next after taking an Uber.

Elsewhere, Roger shows up in a panic at SLS after seeing people breaking into the vault on his security feed. Hannah arrives moments later. They prepare to do whatever it takes to track down the people who broke in. Hannah notices the last six hours of video have been wiped and the security guys, like Carlos, are knocked out. There are still some bees around, and the vault is flooded.

The FBI arrives at SLS and, for now, Hannah and Roger pretend that everything is fine and that it was a false alarm because they don’t want the triplets to find out what happened. Nazaran wants to inspect the building, but Roger tells her to get a warrant if she wants to come inside and take a look. Things get worse for Roger because Stefan calls him and we learn the triplets want to move the bonds out of the vault. That might be a problem since they’re missing!

Back at the headquarters, Stan remembers he dropped his glasses under the water. Roger found them and used them to figure out that his “doctor” wasn’t who he claimed to be.

Carlos shows up at Stan’s house to find out where he is, using Barbara’s “find my phone” app to track him. He shoots both Barbara and Stan’s mom, leaving them for dead.

Ava finally makes it to the meet-up. She’s hurt but seems to be okay. They pull out the drawers containing the vault from the van but quickly realize almost all of the bonds have been replaced with random bits of colored paper. They only got away with a few. Someone duped them. Tensions rise, and everyone ends up pulling guns on each other until Carlos and his men arrive and give the group a common enemy again.

Kaleidoscope Red ending explained

At the end of the episode, Leo, Judy, Stan, and Ava escape with their few bonds onto a boat to go on the run with their new identities. Meanwhile, at SLS, Nazaran returns with a warrant and forces Roger to take them into the vault, including his personal vault. Inside, they find something that seems to spell trouble for Roger. Nazaran asks why Roger has “that” in his vault. You’ll find out what it is in the “White” episode.
