The Invitation is a thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

Hailed for its ability to keep you guessing every second, this 2022 film is one of the most-talked-about horrors of the year. Adding on to that, the title’s talented actors really tie it all together, so there’s no need to worry about predictable lines or cringe-worthy performances.

Perhaps you don’t believe our hype about the film. Well, that’s all the more reason why you should check The Invitation out when it arrives on Netflix. But before you do that, let us fill you in on everything you can expect to unfold.

The Invitation synopsis

The Invitation follows the life of Evie, a woman who discovers she has distant relatives who are delighted to meet her. At first, she doesn’t think much of the sudden yet kind gesture, going so far as attend the family’s wedding to show her support. But when she comes across a mysterious man at the celebration, she soon realizes that the festivity may not be all that celebratory after all.

In a fight for her life, Evie must find a way to escape her night from hell. However, the even more hellish creatures surrounding her will do anything to prevent that from happening.

Starring as Evie is none other than Game of Thrones actress Nathalie Emmanuel. Emmanuel is joined by Thomas Doherty, who plays the role of Conde Dracula, the suspicious man who lures her character into a very sinister situation. In addition to Emmanuel and Doherty, the cast of The Invitation features:

  • Alana Boden as Lucy
  • Hugh Skinner as Oliver Alexander
  • Sean Pertwee as Mr. Field
  • Virág Bárány as Emmaline

The film has an age rating of PG-13, and its duration is approximately an hour and 44 minutes.
