After Ever Happy is the latest installment in the popular After film series to be released on Netflix. If you’re looking forward to watching the romantic drama, we must inform you of the parents guide and age rating. Then, you’ll know if it’s appropriate for kids to watch.

After Ever Happy was helmed by Castille Landon from a screenplay written by Sharon Soboil. Since it is a sequel to After We Fell, the story picks up where it left off in the third film. Hardin has found out some shocking news about the identity of his real father, so now he’s spiraling out of control. Tessa tries her hardest to help him but has started to realize that they may need space. Upon returning home, Tessa discovers that a close family member has overdosed, and now she’s heartbroken. After working on themselves separately, they eventually make their way back to each other, but now they must decide if they want to make things work or go their separate ways.

Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin return in their roles as Tessa and Hardin. Chance Perdomo, Louise Lombard, Kiana Madeira, Carter Jenkins, Arielle Kebbel, Stephen Moyer, Mira Sorvino, Rob Estes, and Frances Turner join them in the cast.

After Ever Happy parents guide and age rating

Like the last two After movies, After Ever Happy is rated R. This means the film may be unsuitable for ages under 17. It was given this maturity rating for strong language throughout the film, some sexual content, and brief drug material. There’s also violence shown, alcohol use by some of the characters, and smoking. Overall, this movie is not geared toward children. It contains adult material that’s intended to be watched by older audiences only.

If you take a look at the official trailer, you’ll see a lot of the adult material listed above shown.

Many of the characters are shown drinking copious amounts of alcohol and smoking in the trailer. There are a couple of clips of Tessa and Hardin passionately kissing and having sexual relations. Hardin is shown boxing another person, breaking into a house by throwing a bottle of alcohol at the window, and attempting to set it on fire. All of this content just listed would be considered inappropriate for younger audiences to watch. So, we strongly suggest watching this movie when no kids are around.
