Emily in Paris season 2 recap: Sylvie leaves Savoir to launch her own firm

Madeline (Kate Walsh) and Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) butt heads non-stop when Madeline comes to Paris to check on the business. It gets ugly fast, and Sylvie winds up quitting Savoir, taking Luc (Bruno Gouery), Julien (Samuel Arnold), and half the clients with her.

The season ends with Sylvie presenting Emily with a significant career opportunity: leave Savoir and join Sylvie’s new firm. It would mean staying in Paris much longer, maybe indefinitely, and forgoing the Chicago promotion she’s been working toward this whole time. Alfie asks Emily to try doing a long-distance relationship with him because he really likes her and wants to see where things can go.

Emily in Paris season 2 recap: Camille and Gabriel move in together

Even though Emily agrees to try long-distance, it’s clear she’s still torn between Alfie and Gabriel. She even accidentally slips up and says she “loves” Gabriel while venting to Mindy (Ashley Park). Mindy encourages Emily to tell Gabriel how she feels because if she doesn’t, she’ll always wonder, “what if.”

With the possibility of staying in Paris long-term in front of her, Emily finally goes to Gabriel’s apartment prepared to tell him how she feels.
