There’s nothing quite like watching an old, classic movie in time for the holidays. Unfortunately, Netflix does not have favorites such as It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, or Meet Me in St. Louis, but there is one 1950s gem worth watching.

White Christmas is available to stream on Netflix, and it definitely should be added to your Christmas watch-list. The film stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Rosemary Clooney, and takes place during World War II. It’s a musical, and if you couldn’t tell by the name, it’s based on the song “White Christmas” performed by Crosby in the film Holiday Inn.

At the time of its release, White Christmas was an instant hit and even became the highest-grossing film of the year. It’s no wonder it’s stayed popular all these years later, and really should be a staple in any holiday movie lineup. The film is heartwarming and does a great job getting you into the spirit of Christmas. Even if you’re not a big fan of musicals, White Christmas just has a kind of charm to it that only comes once a year! And with a TV-G rating, it’s fit for the whole family to watch and enjoy.
