Outer Banks season 3 latest updates (December 2022)

It’s been a year since we learned Outer Banks season 3 would definitely happen. Are we any closer to the season dropping on Netflix?

Can you believe it’s been a year since Netflix confirmed that the Pogues would definitely be back? It was certainly a long wait for the renewal, and it’s been an even longer wait for the season to arrive. We’re still waiting for that release to happen, but are we any closer to it?

Production ended in August 2022. The series is now in the post-production stage, and here’s what we know about the series so far.

When will Outer Banks season 3 come to Netflix?

Netflix has not yet confirmed the exact release date for Outer Banks season 3.

What we do know is that it will arrive at some point in 2023. This could be early 2023. With a lot of shows like this taking six to eight months to get through the post-production process. That could suggest a February 2023 release date. We’d happily have a touch of summer in the dark winter period in the Northern Hemisphere.

According to Digital Spy, there are plans to bring more than three seasons of the series. The plan is four or five seasons to tell the story, but Netflix needs to renew the show for that to happen. The best way to ensure that is to watch the season as soon as it drops.

One thing we are hoping for in the third season is a father-son reunion. The big cliffhanger at the end of season 2 was that John B’s dad is alive after all. With John B now on the deserted island his father once ended up on, we’re waiting to see the two find each other.
