Elite season 6, episode 5 recap: “Mourning”
It turns out Cruz died from being beaten up by the guys in the last episode. This episode opens with Javi telling Isadora that Iván and Phillipe led her sexual assault. Isadora doesn’t believe him at first, but she starts to believe him a little bit as he continues talking.
The next morning, Iván approaches Isadora at school and asks her why she didn’t attend Cruz’s funeral, but she gives him the cold shoulder and walks away. Then, we cut to weeks after Cruz’s funeral, and Sara is still staying at Mencía’s house. Raúl is constantly calling and texting Sara’s phone, asking her to come back, but Sara isn’t replying. Meanwhile, Iván keeps missing school because of his father’s death and everything concerning it.
At Las Encinas, Rocío notices that Ari seems angry about something and asks Mencía if she’s drunk. Mencía approaches Ari and asks her if she’s acting out because of Samuel’s death, and Ari denies it before walking away. In class, the principal asks Patrick if he brought Iván’s doctor’s note for missing school, but Patrick tells her he didn’t. The conversation ends with Patrick telling the principal that he’ll get Iván to come back to school.
Later at Isadora’s playhouse, Bilal notices Dídac staring at Isadora from across the room. Dídac tells Bilal that he likes Isadora but doesn’t want to pressure her into a relationship. Then, we meet Dídac’s brother, Pau, who is moving to Madrid to expand the family business. However, it’s unclear what the business is. In this scene, we find out that Dídac isn’t poor. He just wants nothing to do with his family business.
Patrick approaches Isadora and asks for help in helping Iván, but she tells him that she wouldn’t be much help. Isadora is obviously lying. She just doesn’t want to help Iván because she now suspects he played a part in her sexual assault. Dídac appears and suggests to Patrick and Isadora that they put on a memorial for Cruz at Isadora’s playhouse to help Iván heal and get closure. Initially, Isadora shuts down the idea but is eventually convinced by Patrick and Dídac.
Later that night, Isadora has a nightmare of the night she was sexually assaulted so she calls Dídac. Isadora tells Dídac that she thinks Iván had something to do with her being sexually assaulted. Although Dídac doesn’t believe Iván would do such a thing, he assures Isadora that he has her back. Elsewhere at Nico’s house, he tries to sleep with a girl with a sex toy but doesn’t enjoy the experience. The next morning, he tells his parents he wants to go through with gender confirmation surgery, but they shut it down.
Back at Ari, Patrick, and Mencía’s house, Patrick and Iván get into an argument. Patrick tells Iván he wants to help him, but Iván feels smothered. After Patrick leaves, Ari goes to talk to Iván. They end up bonding because they both lost a person they loved. Apparently, the talk they had motivated Iván to return to school. Patrick is happy to see him, but Iván completely ignores him.
Javi tries to talk to Dídac at school, but Dídac shuts him down. Then, Pau gives Dídac advice concerning Javi. He suggests to Dídac that he give him a chance to talk since they’re old friends. Elsewhere at the school, Raúl approaches Sara and Mencía. He tries to speak to Sara, but Mencía tells him Sara will get a restraining order on him if he won’t stop bothering her. Raúl then walks away.
In the boy’s shower room, Nico makes a deal with Hugo and Alex so that he can raise enough money for his surgery. The deal is that Nico will provide Hugo and Alex with hormones to build muscle in exchange for cash. He steals the hormones from his dad’s office. Later, Raúl goes live on social media to publicly apologize to Sara. However, it’s obvious that he hasn’t changed and is just doing it to get her back. Back at school, Dídac gives Javi the opportunity to mend things between them, but he has to fix the situation he caused between Isadora and Iván.
Later at Isadora’s playhouse, Isadora listens to a voicemail from Javi, but we cannot hear it. After the voicemail ends, Isadora tells Dídac to call her chauffeur. Once Isadora gets into her car, she listens to the voicemail again, and we can hear it. The voicemail is Javi telling the truth. He tells Isadora that he lied about Iván’s involvement in her sexual assault. Isadora then makes her way to see Iván. First, she apologizes to him for not being there when he needed her the most. Then, she convinces him to attend Cruz’s memorial.
At Cruz’s memorial, Bilal and Rocío talk. Bilal tells Rocío that she’s not his type which angers her. The conversation ends with Bilal explaining to Rocío that his reasoning for not wanting to be with her is that he’s done dealing with Las Encinas girls.
After Iván’s emotional speech, Mencía looks around for Sara but can’t find her. She sends Sara a text message, and Sara replies that she’s at her place. So, Mencía makes her way to Sara. They argue about Sara taking Raúl back even though he’s an abuser. But Sara has been brainwashed by Raúl, so she doesn’t listen to what Mencía says. The conversation ends with Sara slamming the door in Mencía’s face.
Back at Isadora’s playhouse, Patrick gives Ari the address to Samuel’s grave site so she can properly grieve. However, this just puts Ari in more of a downward spiral, and she starts drinking. She bumps into Iván in the restroom, and they share an intimate moment before they hook up. Meanwhile, a racist man approaches Rocío, insinuating that she’s a prostitute. Fortunately, Bilal comes to her rescue and gets security to kick the man out. Afterward, Rocío and Bilal decide to clear the air and start over.
After looking everywhere for Iván, Patrick catches him and Ari coming out of a restroom stall together. He tells them off for what they did and then walks away. Elsewhere, Nico finds Ari sitting at the bar and approaches her. Ari expresses her feelings towards him, and then Nico calls a cab to take them back to his place.
Patrick and Iván decide to have another talk about their failing relationship. Iván tells Patrick that he blames him for his father’s death even though he wishes he didn’t. The conversation ends with them breaking up. Then, we flash forward to Patrick in a hospital waiting room and Iván badly injured in a hospital bed. Will Iván be okay?
