Elite season 6, episode 4 recap: âWarâ
The fourth episode starts with a flash-forward to a scene with Patrick, Ari, and MencĂa at a funeral. Patrick stares out the window in sadness as he watches a coffin be taken out of a car. Ari approaches Patrick and tells him that IvĂĄnâs family wants to start the funeral service. Then, we cut to the present time with Patrick, IvĂĄn, and Cruz talking about his upcoming soccer match.
Later that night, Cruz decides to have a drink when several objects are hurled at his window. He goes to check it out and finds his soccer jersey with the words âQueerâ on the back of it. Remember, this isnât the first time Cruz has been harassed since coming out. In a previous episode, he finds a dummy hanging from his front door with the words âQueerâ written on it. With this second incident, Cruz becomes more fearful.
The next morning, RaĂșl converses with Sara about his actions the night before. Sara suggests she stay with her mom for a couple of days, but RaĂșl doesnât agree. RaĂșl ends up convincing Sara to stay to work things out. Back at Ari, Patrick, and MencĂaâs house, they eat breakfast before heading to school. After everyone leaves, Ari pours alcohol into her thermos to take to school. At Las Encinas, Hugo, Alex, Javi, and Isadora speak with the principal about Isadoraâs revenge video. While the boys want Isadora to be punished, the principal tells them that she canât help them without evidence. The conversation ends with the principal telling them she doesnât want to hear about the issue anymore.
During physical education, Hugo and Alex devise a plan to get Isadora to leave them alone. They plan to pin everything on IvĂĄn. Alex tells Javi about the plan later in the boyâs restroom. Nico enters the boyâs restroom, and he and Alex argue about him not having a male private part. But then he notices he wet his pants, so he goes to a restroom stall. He calls RocĂo so she can bring him some pants to change into. As RocĂo leaves the restroom, she tells Nico that Bilal and Ari slept together. Nico is left feeling shocked by what he just found out.
In the girlâs shower room, Sara and MencĂa have a chat. MencĂa tells Sara that she acts differently when sheâs not around her boyfriend. The conversation doesnât end well, with MencĂa and Sara back on bad terms. While showering, MencĂa notices another bruise on Saraâs body, which alarms her. Later, MencĂa tells Ari about her concerns about Sara and RaĂșlâs relationship. Ari gives her opinion on the situation and then walks away.
Outside the school, DĂdac, IvĂĄn, and Isadora chat about Cruzâs soccer match. Javi sends a text message to Isadora asking to speak with her, so Isadora tells IvĂĄn to give her ticket to the soccer match to someone else. Elsewhere, Sara walks to RaĂșlâs car since he unexpectedly decides to pick her up. RaĂșl tells Sara they should go home to prepare for the soccer match, but Sara tells him he should go alone and record content for their social media account. RaĂșl doesnât initially like the idea but eventually gives in. However, he tells Sara to stay home and wait for him to return.
At the soccer match, Ari and Bilal talk about the other night when they hooked up. Ari tells him that nothing will ever happen between them, and then Bilal walks off. Back at Isadoraâs playhouse, Isadora gets ready to meet Javi but ends up ambushed by Hugo and Alex. This is the boysâ opportunity to start their plan, but Isadora doesnât want to hear them out and instead kicks them out. However, she does hear Hugo mention IvĂĄnâs name before heâs taken out by security.
Back at the soccer match, Ari and Nico get into an argument that ends with her throwing a drink in his face before walking off. As the match starts, some of the crowd starts yelling homophobic slurs at Cruz. Then, we cut to Sara and RaĂșlâs house, where MencĂa decides to keep Sara company. After talking for a while, Sara confesses to MencĂa what RaĂșl has been doing to her. MencĂa tries to convince Sara to leave him, but she disagrees. Before MencĂa leaves the house, she kisses Sara and reassures her that sheâll stick by her no matter what.
Back at the match, the crowd starts fighting and throwing stuff at the players, so the match gets canceled. As everyone leaves the game, another fight breaks out outside. Then, a man walks up to Ivån to hit him over the head with a glass bottle, but Bilal jumps in to save him.
Back at Cruzâs house, IvĂĄn sees the broken glass window and finds out that people have been harassing Cruz before the soccer match. But Cruz doesnât want to talk about the harassment. He tells Patrick and IvĂĄn to go home and then lays down on the couch. But Patrick and IvĂĄn donât immediately go home. Instead, they head to Isadoraâs playhouse, where IvĂĄn gets drunk. In his drunken state, he pushes Isadora when she comes to check on him. This alarms Isadora and makes her rethink speaking with Javi.
After having another argument with Ari at Isadoraâs playhouse, Nico talks with his father, revealing that heâs not as confident as a trans man. Then, we cut to RaĂșl walking into his house to find it empty. He becomes angry and calls Sara, but she doesnât pick up. We find out in the next scene that she decided to stay at MencĂaâs house.
Later, Cruz receives a text message from Patrick saying that he and IvĂĄn will come pick him up because theyâre worried about him. Cruz replies and says heâll meet them there. As Cruz exits his garage, he almost gets in an accident with another car. Cruz and the people in the other vehicle get into an argument and then decide to exit their cars to fight. But Cruz gets badly beaten since it was him against several men.
Patrick and IvĂĄn eventually find him lying down on the ground, and IvĂĄn cries while holding him. The episode ends with a cut to the funeral scene we saw at the beginning of the episode. We find out that the funeral is for Cruz. But did he die from the fight or something else? I guess weâll find out next episode.
