Who is Henry Kim in Manifest season 4 part 1? (spoilers)

Warning: Spoilers for Manifest season 4 episodes 1 and 2 below!

Alright Manifesters, be honest. Who stayed up late to at least watch the first episode of Manifest season 4? Raise those hands high!

While the season overall has brought back some familiar faces from previous years, we were introduced to a new 828 passenger in the opening scene. And that passenger is Henry Kim. He was thought to be dead, supposedly executed by the Singaporean government. But they traded Henry to China, the country doing the most 828 studies outside of the U.S. according to Vance.

After being a “lab rat” for two years and hiding away on a freight ship for four weeks, he finally finds Cal, as he’d been getting Callings to find him for two years. A Calling leads Michaela to the port, where Henry is and has an important item with him: the Black Box from the plane. It had disappeared from Eureka, but now it’s somehow back.

So, what happens to the new character throughout the season?

Vance tries to keep Henry hidden away, but the Registry is able to easily track him down due to an implanted microchip. Michaela tries to get the fellow passenger away, but unfortunately, it’s not a success. Henry gives himself up and is taken into custody. When Cal goes in to speak with him, he tells Henry that Vance is working with a contact at the UN Human Rights Watch to make sure he will be okay.

When Henry was young, he was struck by lightening and it gave him a scar. His father told him it’s a dragon, which makes him strong and capable of anything. Before Cal leaves, Henry tells the teen he’s a dragon just like him. Somehow later, the scar is transferred to Cal and he now bears it. The fact it’s a dragon and that Cal has the scar all comes into play in episode 10, the final installment in Manifest season 4 part 1.

After the first two episodes of the season, we don’t see Henry again. And we don’t get a confirmation that he truly is okay with the UN. Is his role over, or are we going to see more of him in part 2? We’ll have to wait and see!
