Manifest season 4 episode 8 recap: Full Upright and Locked Position

Everyone’s scrambling to hide Cal before the Registry shows up, which includes Michaela deducing that Noelle targeted anyone who helped Angelina: Sam Wile, Anna Ross, and now Violet. Unfortunately, the Registry arrests Cal. From the inside, Drea deletes Cal’s fingerprints from the system to buy more time before they take a DNA sample, which Drea can’t tamper with. Ben’s Calling takes him to Radd Campbell, and their shared Calling provides them with Dr. Bates’ phone number. Upon learning that Cal’s cancer has returned, Radd argues with the Registry that “Gabriel” can’t be tested on, and they release him to Dr. Bates.

Fearing Adrian might be Noelle’s next victim, Michaela and Zeke follow a lead to a motel, but they find Eagan instead of Adrian. He insists they allow him to tag along and use his Calling to track down Adrian. Meanwhile, Noelle ties Adrian and Angelina up in an empty warehouse, where Angelina realizes her mother’s motive is to rid the sinners from her life. Michaela, Jared, and Vance arrive at the warehouse after Angelina escapes but just as Noelle drowns and nearly stabs Adrian. Jared arrests Noelle and Adrian lives, but Drea has new evidence that exonerates Noelle from killing Violet.

When Michaela calls Zeke with a warning about the killer still being on the loose, he had already sensed that the killer’s at their house. Olive opens the door for who she believes is the officer stationed outside their home, but it’s Angelina’s dad Kenneth, the real 828 killer. Kenneth shoots Zeke in the leg during a struggle and he creeps upstairs to kidnap Eden, but Olive knocks him out with her heavy metal box and pushes him out the window to his death.

Biggest Revelations:

  • Dr. Gupta helps Saanvi safely replicate what The Major did to the detainees to put them in a constant state of Calling with copied files from Eureka. They discover The Major used a different kind of sapphire to inflict Callings, which they try on Eagan to no avail.
  • Olive’s research uncovers the Omega Sapphire, which are “supercharged.”
  • When Jared brings Noelle into custody at the Registry, the new captain tells Jared he will be contacting his boss at the 129 to request a transfer to 828. Because of his assistance he could become a detective for the Registry and another ally on the inside.
  • Zeke finally comes clean to Michaela about relapsing and taking the proactive steps to reestablish his sobriety by showing her his chip. She’s shocked but supportive.
  • Olive calls TJ again but gets his voicemail. He text messages her to come outside, and he pulls up outside her house in a cab. They talk about the Omega Sapphire, which he believes is located somewhere in New York, and share a long-awaited kiss.
  • Eagan enters the Masonic Temple of the Omega Order to volunteer at its soup kitchen. It’s the building he recognized from Marko’s Calling drawing at the Bird’s Nest and where he believes to be the location of the Omega Sapphire.
