Manifest season 4 episode 3 recap: High Flight

Ben and Michaela present Jared with evidence that Eden is still alive and, knowing that the precinct won’t reopen the case, he takes it to the Registry. Of course, Drea helps lead the case, but they have to keep up appearances that they’re on opposing sides. With Drea’s help, they find a phone reported missing at the library belonging to a distressed young woman with a toddler. Once they arrive at the library, Ben appears to have a Calling connected to Eagan.

Back at home, Ben notices Eden’s drawings appearing on the ceiling of the attic, and he traces them in chalk. Olive recognizes the drawings as the song she and Cal sing. Later, Jared informs them that the search of the library computer Angelina used hit dead ends, and Ben receives a phone call from Eagan, who informs him he knows where he can find Eden.

Saanvi plays Cal the Calling recordings on the Black Box, which makes the dragon-shaped scar on his arm move. Inside the Registry, Michaela spots Flight 828 copilot Amuta and has a Calling of thunder. She compares notes with Cal and Saanvi and realizes Amuta could hold the answers to the Black Box, leading her to delay his flight and send him to the Bird’s Nest. After listening to the Black Box, Amuta asserts the recordings are from the moment they died.

Biggest Revelations:

  • Michaela knows Drea and Jared are hooking up and doesn’t care, but Drea asks her not to tell Jared that she knows.
  • Angelina tries to forge a deeper connection with Eden and share Callings. But when she notices Ben communicating with Eden through Callings, she snaps and throws a bowl of food against the wall. Erika hears the noise from downstairs.
  • Adrian visits Eagan in prison and confesses to him that he’s helping Angelina and Eden. He says he’s considering turning her in, but Eagan lays out a scenario where Angelina implicates him for Grace’s murder. There’s no turning back.
  • Jack Messina reprises his role as young Cal Stone in a new flashback scene from when Cal went missing after touching the tailfin. He was back on 828 with Captain Daly and Fiona. Unfortunately, he doesn’t remember “the answer.”
  • Saanvi makes a connection between ultra low-frequency sounds and peacocks, reminding her of a previous Calling.
