Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry have been receiving almost unanimous critical acclaim for their performances in the new psychological drama film Causeway, releasing Friday, November 4, on Apple TV+.

Lawrence stars as Lynsey, a soldier who suffers a traumatic brain injury while on tour in Afghanistan and struggles to adapt to civilian life when she returns home with her mother while waiting for redeployment.

Tony Award-winning theater director Lila Neugebauer directs a script from Elizabeth Sanders, Luke Goebel, and Otessa Moshfegh . Neugebauer has previously directed episodes of HBO’s Room 104 and The Sex Lives of College Girls, in addition to Netflix’s Maid. Besides Lawrence and Henry, Causeway also stars Linda Edmond, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Jane Houdyshell, and Russell Harvard. Lawrence also serves as a producer.

An intimate film, Causeway has been praised for its subtle, nuanced depiction of trauma and the chemistry between the two leads.
