Millie Bobby Brown is back on Netflix, but this time around, she’s left Hawkins for London. The talented star reprises her titular role from the hit 2020 Netflix movie Enola Holmes for its exciting and highly anticipated sequel. Enola Holmes 2 returns with an all-new mystery.

In the sequel, Enola has set out on her own as a detective, though she’s still in the shadow of her older brother, Sherlock (Henry Cavill). For her first real case as a detective, Enola helps a young girl track down her missing sister, which brings a shocking conspiracy to light.

How does Enola fare in her first case? Does she help Bessie find Sarah? Can Sherlock solve his own mystery, or will he need Enola’s help? Let’s dive into the biggest questions from the sequel and tie up the surprising and thrilling ending.

Warning: Spoilers ahead from Enola Holmes 2!

Who is Sarah Chapman in Enola Holmes 2?

In the beginning of the movie, Bessie (Serranna Su-Ling Bliss) commissions Enola’s detective prowess to find her older sister Sarah. Bessie and Sarah worked together at the match factory, and as Enola pieces together, Sarah had been fighting back against the unhealthy and deadly working conditions. Multiple matchgirls had died of “typhus.”

Throughout Enola’s investigation, she discovers that the matchgirls weren’t dying of typhus and were actually dying as a result of the toxic phosphorus the factory had switched over to. Sarah had unearthed this discovery as well, leading to her disappearance.

When Enola goes to a ball thrown by the Lyon family and their son William, she meets a young woman named Cicely. In the end, Enola uncovers that Cicely was actually Sarah, and she was working with (and in love with!) William Lyon to expose both the corruption of the factory and that of his father.

Who was Sherlock’s blackmailer in Enola Holmes 2?

Enola wasn’t the only Holmes sibling trying to connect the dots of a complicated mystery in Enola Holmes 2. Worse for the wear, Sherlock has been pretty much stumped by his latest case, as Enola quickly puts together from his excessive drinking, mess of a flat, and unfinished map filled with clues.

The case involves money, namely unaccounted transfers that have been moving through multiple government offices. He surmises its bribery, extortion, or blackmail. Upon his discovery of a message from “Moriarty,” Sherlock realizes his case has a connection to Enola’s — the match factory is at the center of the bank transfers.

As it turns out, Mira Troy (Sharon Duncan-Brewster) had been the blackmailer all along, and she was responsible for William’s death (among others). Of course, Moriarty is an anagram for Mira Troy, and it doesn’t appear Sherlock’s game with her will be over anytime soon. In the end, it’s revealed she escaped from the police.

How does Sherlock meet Watson in Enola Holmes 2?

In the final sequence of the sequel, Sherlock asks Enola to team up with him, but she turns down his offer to continue making a name for herself and helping those in need. However, they plan to meet up on Thursday at 4 p.m. to spend more time together.

When 4 p.m. rolls around on Thursday, Sherlock’s surprised to see not Enola at his door but a man asking about being a flatmate. Enola’s going to get Sherlock and buddy if it’s the last thing she does. And that buddy? Dr. John Watson (Himesh Patel)!
