Manifest season 4 part 1 is here, and I’m sure all us fans have been glued to our screens! With the story now having to be wrapped up in a total of 20 episodes, we are getting all types of answers (but also more questions!), and finally starting to understand what “it’s all connected” really means.

Season 4 part 1 saw many flashbacks to the first season, the characters putting together puzzle pieces from previous seasons, and the Manifest crew still learning new information about what happened to them on Flight 828.

In season 4 episode 5, titled “Squawk,” the ever-brilliant Dr. Saanvi seems to make a surprising discovery about the Callings. But is her theory correct?

Are Callings memories in Manifest season 4 part 1?

Warning: Spoilers for Manifest season 4 part 1 below!

In the episode, our favorite doctor is looking at a scan of Cal’s brain. She notices that the memory center in his brain lit up when he was having a Calling. So what does this mean? How could you remember something that hasn’t happened yet, as lab tech Troy Davis questions.

That’s where Saanvi’s theory comes in. Are Callings actually memories? In the first batch of episodes, it’s not 100% clear what the answer really is. In episode 6, Olive points out that Eden didn’t spend time in the glow since she wasn’t on Flight 828, and yet she still somehow gets Callings. So there’s no way they could be memories for her.

Cal has been at the center of all of the mystery, and he’s the one who disappeared and came back a few years older. Perhaps this theory only applies to Cal, and his Callings are memories. We’re just speculating at this point though. Hopefully we get a clearer answer in part 2!

What do you think about the Callings? Do you think they are truly memories? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
