Lockwood & Co. release date, cast, synopsis, trailer, and more

Netflix is adapting the YA book series Lockwood & Co. by Jonathan Stroud into a television series and Bridgerton star Ruby Stokes is leading the cast!

We first learned of the Lockwood & Co. TV adaptation back in May 2020 when it was announced that Netflix and the Complete Fiction production company would be working together to create a show based on the Lockwood & Co.’s book series. Joe Cornish had signed on as the lead writer, lead director, and an executive producer of the series. Then, in December 2020, Netflix officially gave the show a series order.

Kara Smith, Ed Hime, and Joy Wilkinson are also credited as writers for the series. Although Cornish is the director, William McGregor has also directed some episodes. Besides Cornish, Nira Park and Rachael Prior also serve as executive producers.

No. Production started in July 2021 in London and wrapped in March 2022.

The British detective thriller series will arrive on Netflix on Friday, January 27, 2023. You can expect the complete eight-episode season to drop at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on Jan. 27.

Lockwood & Co. synopsis

Netflix released the official synopsis and we shared it below:

"In London, where the most gifted teenage ghost-hunters venture nightly into perilous combat with deadly spirits, amidst the many corporate, adult-run agencies, one stands alone: independent of any commercial imperative or adult supervision – a tiny startup, run by two teenage boys and a newly arrived, supremely psychically gifted girl, a renegade trio destined to unravel a mystery that will change the course of history: Lockwood & Co."

The first season will consist of eight episodes that are an hour long each.
