Ready to experience a love story in one of the most romantic countries in the world? Netflix’s new series From Scratch is taking us there to explore the journey of Amy Wheeler and Lino.

Zoe Saldaña stars as Amy, while Eugenio Mastrandrea takes on the role of her beau, Lino. Joining the duo onscreen are Danielle Deadwyler as Zora, Keith David, Lucia Sardo, Judith Scott, Paride Benassai, Kellita Smith, Roberta Rigano, and Giacomo Gianniotti.

The upcoming show is a “cross-cultural love story” that follows Amahle “Amy” Wheeler, an American student studying abroad in Italy, when she meets and falls in love with Sicilian chef Lino, according to Netflix.

Their “whirlwind romance” faces many challenges, some of which are due to their different cultural backgrounds. The story has some more lighthearted and humorous moments as well though. But when Lino is faced with “unimaginable health challenges,” their two families come together to former a bigger one.

The show is inspired by the true story of writer Tembi Locke’s memoir of the same name. She co-created this project with Attica Locke. Hello Sunshine, actress Reese Witherspoon’s production company, executive produces the series.
