Did you know that the charming little coming-of-age drama Wonder, which stars Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and Jacob Tremblay, is getting a sequel? It doesn’t have much in common with White Bird: A Wonder Story, which is kind of a stealth sequel, but the two are indeed related.

Interestingly, the 2022 film follows Auggie’s former bully, Julian, after he leaves Beecher Prep for good. His grandmother visits him and tells him about her childhood as a Jewish girl in Nazi-occupied France during World War II.

Helen Mirren stars as Julian’s grandmother Sara Albans while newcomer Ariella Glaser plays the younger Sara in the flashbacks. Bryce Gheisar returns to reprise his role as Julian in White Bird: A Wonder Story. You might recognize him from A Dog’s Purpose. Gillian Anderson also stars.

Is White Bird: A Wonder Story on Netflix?

No, White Bird: A Wonder Story is not on Netflix, and that is not expected to change because Lionsgate is distributing the film, and they have deals with other companies and streaming services.

However, Netflix has many war dramas, such as A Call to Spy, The Bombardment, Beasts of No Nation, The Forgotten Battle, Outlaw King, and Operation Mincemeat.

Where to watch White Bird: A Wonder Story

The only way to watch White Bird is by seeing it in theaters. The movie will later move to Starz for the pay-one period following its theatrical release, meaning it should arrive on Starz by early 2023. After Starz, the film will move to The Roku Channel during the second pay window thanks to a new deal between Roku and Lionsgate.
